MH4U! My Mixed Armor Sets! Set #6! Divine Guidance!

When I was checking out my inventory I saw a Prayer +4, Gloves Off +7 OO talisman and I thought to myself "hey, I've never tried mixing this yet." and so I looked at some armor pieces that had some points in prayer and then poof! My Divine Guidance set was made!

Why was it named that way? Because this armor set revolves around the skill Benediction which is a new and cool compound armor skill that was just introduced in MH4U.

What I mostly do when I mix sets is that I tend to to focus more on offensive skills and I forget to get some defensive skills for those unwanted situations that commonly happen during hunts. I'm very pleased with this set, because I managed to achieve well rounded skills both offensively and defensively.

The armor pieces and talisman are:

Arc Helm X - O
Arc Mail X - OO
Braces of Rage - ---
Esurient Faulds Z - ---
Grand Yamato Gusoku - ---
Miracle Charm - Prayer +4, Gloves Off +7 OO

Since it's made out of rarity 10 armor pieces, it's got top tier defense ratings.
Maxed out Defense = 753 (No armor talon/charm)

Elemental Resistance:

Fire -3
Water +10
Thunder -1
Ice +3
Dragon -22

That -22 dragon resistance is a real eye sore but everything else is fine by me. If I do accidentally bring this armor set to dragon type monsters, I'll be thrice as cautious as normal because a good Stygian Zinogre body slam or a Devil Jho Dragon breath would pretty much kill me instantaneously.

Decorations needed:

Tenderizer +1 Jewel x3
Expert +3 Jewel x1

Skills activated:

Latent Power +2 (15)
Sharpness +1 (11)
Benediction (11)
Weakness Exploit (10)
Critical Eye +1 (10)

I like to use this set when I solo or when I grind for Caravan points via expedition. This set can do damage just fine and can also take some hefty hits which makes it a bit of a DPS tank or somewhere down that line.

I had a lot of curiosity with the Benediction skill and much to my luck I have a bunch of Prayer charms that were just lying inside my storage. It's a pretty nice skill to have and it sometimes even saves me from fatal blows because of its Divine Protection and Recovery Up.

I'll try to make more sets with the new skills that MH4U has, like a Shield Bearer GL, Lance and CB build. There's still a bunch more skills out there that I would love to experiment and mix them with different types of skills.

There's more to hunting than just sticking to offensive skills. Sure there are skills that are only good for certain situations, but if you do use them correctly, the hunt will be so much easier. It takes time to make armor sets that are good for specific monsters but it's all worth it. For example, a Gravios hunt would be a lot less tedious and frustrating if you were Lancing him with the Guard Up skill.

Those small little things truly add up to make a bigger and better outcome.

Thank you for checking out my mix sets and have fun doing yours. Happy hunting!

MH4U! My Top 5 Non-Relic SnS!

1. Lunatic Rose

Gold Rathian's SnS! A solid SnS that has high attack, great sharpness, good poison and has two bonus slots to mess decorations around with. The trade off? You've got to make this one from scratch but don't worry because it's all worth it. You'll have to go through all the Rathians in every rank to make this SnS.
  • Attack - 406
  • True Attack - 290
  • Element - 310 Poison
  • Affinity - 0%
  • Sharpness - 90 hits with white or 60 hits with purple with Sharpness +1
  • Defense - +0
  • Slots - Two slots
  • Rarity - 10

2. Anular Sol

What happens when the fires of gold and silver collide? An SnS of blazing proportion! This is a well balanced SnS that'll solve your problems with monster that are weak to fire. It's got great overall stats and mostly covers everything an SnS should be. You can either make this from scratch or just choose to create the Platinum Dawn which upgrades to this.

  • Attack - 392
  • True Attack - 280
  • Element - 350 Fire
  • Affinity - 0%
  • Sharpness - 90 hits with white or 60 hits with purple with Sharpness +1
  • Defense - +0
  • Slots - One slot
  • Rarity - 10

3. Teostra's Emblem

Want explosions? And more explosions?! Well Teostra's Emblem will surely make your wish come true! This one has an absurd amount of blast and pair this up with Bombardier or Felyne Pyro, and you're a one man wrecking crew. The upgrades for this weapon doesn't demand too much but it may become a nuisance when the game just doesn't want to give you the Worn Sword ancient shard.

  • Attack - 350
  • True Attack - 250
  • Element - 500 Blast
  • Affinity - 0%
  • Sharpness - 90 hits with white or 90 hits with purple with Sharpness +1
  • Defense - +0
  • Slots - No slots
  • Rarity - 10

4. Reigning Grissword

This SnS is just screaming with pure raw potential and it doesn't need the skill sharpness +1 to shine. For me, if you just awaken it and add the blast to it's attacks, you're gonna have a grand time tearing through monsters like butter. Though it doesn't have good purple sharpness the amount of white bar it has compensates for it pretty well. To get this SnS, you've got to get parts from Tigrex, Brute Tigrex and of course Molten Tigrex as well.

  • Attack - 420
  • True Attack - 300
  • Element - 220 Blast (Awakened)
  • Affinity - +20%
  • Sharpness - 180 hits with white or 10 hits with purple with Sharpness +1
  • Defense - +0
  • Slots - One slot
  • Rarity - 10

5. Le Limier

The Shagaru Magala SnS! High affinity with great sharpness and a considerable amount of dragon element makes this a good candidate in my list of SnS worth making. The 40% affinity is ridiculously insane! Add in more attack increasing skills and you'll be doing crazy amounts of DPS. It uses Gore and Shagaru parts so it's a bit tedious to make but don't worry because it serves its purpose well.
  • Attack - 336
  • True Attack - 240
  • Element - 350 Dragon
  • Affinity - +40%
  • Sharpness - 120 hits with white or 90 hits with purple with Sharpness +1
  • Defense - +0
  • Slots - One slot
  • Rarity - 10

*Do note that the attack values here are the original values they started off with, they aren't honed with attack.

There you have my top 5 non-relic SnS! These, for me, are the five best SnS that MH4U has, I know some may agree and some may not but that's just how it is. Nonetheless, I hope I've helped you in picking which SnS to make because there's a ton of them.

Craft those SnS and let's hunt! Happy hunting!

MH4U! My Mixed Armor Sets! Set #5! DoomShroom!

I've done a lot of offensive armor sets lately and I've thought to myself, "Yeah, I think it's time to mess around with some fun armor skills" and then my DoomShroom set was created!

This set focuses on supporting fellow hunters with healing and a few good buffs! Pair this up with the SnS and you'll easily maintain the buffs through out the hunt!

There are tons and tons of hunters out there but support hunters are rarely found. You may think that "this set isn't needed for level 140 quests" but it's just a matter of how you play the game. Skills are just supplementary abilities that'll aid us in hunts but the real one in control is you, not the skills.

Sometimes hunting gets boring and troublesome when you use the same weapon and armor over and over again, a way to freshen up MH4U or just about any MH title game, is to widen your horizon and come out of your comfort zone and try new things!

The armor pieces and talisman are:

Vanigs Helm X - O
Vangis Armor X - O
G. Knight Gloves X - O
G. Knight Coay X - OO
Nibelsnarf Greaves X - ---
Miracle Charm - Amplify +4, Wide Range +8 OOO

Since it's made out of rarity 8-9 armor pieces, it's got a relatively high defense
Maxed out Defense = 732 (No armor talon/charm)

Elemental Resistance:

Fire +2
Water +0
Thunder -10
Ice -2
Dragon -7

As expected using Vangis armor pieces, it's got a bit of weakness towards thunder but a good meal ought to solve that problem instantly! The rest is almost near neutral making it useful against pretty much any monster.

Decorations needed:

Eating +1 Jewel x2
Mycology +2 Jewel x5

Skills activated:

Sharpness +1 (11)
Wide Range +2 (15)
Speed Eating +2 (15)
Attack Up Small (10)
Mushromancer (10)

Wide Range is such an underrated skill that needs more notice. Potions, might seeds, adamant seeds, nulberries and antidotes can all be used with Wide Range and it's so useful when your fellow hunters are in a tight situation.

Wide Range itself is good but pair this up with Speed Eating +2 and you can just heal or buff anybody instantly!

This set revolves around teamwork and teamwork is one of the most important factors to consider when hunting online even if you're doing it with random people. Even if it's just a small potion heal, every bit of help is always appreciated.

Don't be afraid to try out new stuff! like experimenting with armor mixing or using skills that you would never thought you'd use in serious online or offline hunts. MH isn't a competitive game, it's a game that is enjoyed whatever play style you prefer.

Go out there and play with a bunch of weapons you've never tried before or have fun with some new armor skills! You just have to enjoy what MH4U has to offer! Happy hunting!

Relic Weapon! MH4U! (Bow)

For the past few days during my spare time, I've went online to do some guild quests and due to the amount of quests I've gone through, I can't seem to remember where I got this relic bow.

I was surprised to see this in my inventory after sorting it out and took a moment to look at the stats if it was worthwhile, and it didn't disappoint in any way. Though it needed Load Up to unlock the third level of charge, everything else was fine by me.

I was a hug Bow user back in MH4U and I loved it ever since, I'm very happy that the Bow has a lot of new things added to it as the iteration of the game goes on, it's become a very formidable weapon when used to it's full potential.

Appearance: Hidden/Eclipse Bow that glows green
Charge Levels:
Lv1: Rapid Level 3
Lv2: Spread Level 3
Lv3: Spread Level 4
Element: 370 Water
Affinity: 0%
Attack: 324 Power Shot (360 Maxed out)
True attack value: 270 (300)
Defense: +0
Available Coatings: Power, Paint, Exhaust, Blast
Coating Boost: Exhaust
Slots/Decorations: Three slot
Rarity: 9

A solid water bow with high raw! Since there are a lot of armor mixes that already have Load Up, unlocking that third charge isn't even a problem. Power coatings are extremely important in dealing tons of damage to monsters so I got lucky that this bow has innate access to it.

Since I've already got a flexible bow set that'll go well with this one, I'll give it a go sometimes when I hunt with other fellow hunters online. It may not be a status inducing bow but it'll give nice support damage from a distance even if it is a spread type bow.

The boost in Exhaust coating is going to be a big help when hunting in a group or even by myself, I'll be draining stamina so fast that the fatigue status will pretty much be instant after a few minutes.

*(A good way of using traps is using it when the monster is fatigued, it lasts longer than usual allowing you to do more hits and more damage.)

It's also got  high water elemental value, so all of you monsters that are weak to water are gonna have a bad hair day. I love power shot type bows, too bad it replaces the arc shots, well I guess the bow would be insanely powerful if it had those two abilities at once.

Take up arms with your bow and arrow! We are the archers of MH4U! Stand up, lift your head up high and be proud! Happy hunting!

MH4U: My Top 5 Non-Relic Charge Blades!

1. Ceadeus Regalia

This one has the top spot on my list due to the fact that it's got an excellent raw output, good overall sharpness and high water element. The letdown however is that the materials needed to make this CB is a bit hard to get but once crafted, it'll be worth it in the end.
  • Attack - 1080 Impact
  • True Attack - 300
  • Element - 310 Water
  • Affinity - 0%
  • Sharpness - 60 hits with white or 30 hits with purple with Sharpness +1
  • Defense - +0
  • Slots - No slots
  • Rarity - 10

2. Daora's Thwartoise

A nice well rounded CB that has the potential to be involved in most blademaster sets. Doesn't need any special skills to make it shine and standout because the weapon itself has balanced stats overall. Only a two step process to make this CB, create then upgrade to G-rank level. Doesn't demand too much materials to create.
  • Attack - 972 Impact
  • True Attack - 270
  • Element - 380 Ice
  • Affinity - 10%
  • Sharpness - 30 hits with white or 60 hits with purple with Sharpness +1
  • Defense - +0
  • Slots - Two slots
  • Rarity - 10

3. Propensity

The fire and ferocity of a Silver Rathalos is imbued in this CB. The one thing you'll first notice with this weapon is that large chunk of purple sharpness it has when you pair it up with the skill Sharpness +1 or Honed Blade. Well balanced weapon that thrashes enemies weak to fire. You can choose to make this weapon early on or create it with G-rank Silver Rathalos parts and upgrade it once after that.
  • Attack - 972 Impact
  • True Attack - 270
  • Element - 320 Fire
  • Affinity - 20%
  • Sharpness - 100 hits with white or 80 hits with purple with Sharpness +1
  • Defense - +0
  • Slots - No slots
  • Rarity - 10

4. Le Salut

Shagaru Magala's CB that just reeks with affinity and element. It has one of the best sharpness bars I've ever seen. The raw may look underwhelming but it's still powerful when paired up with its high affinity value. The only downside to this weapon is that you'll need to make this starting from low rank Gore Magala and Shagaru Magala parts and upgrade it five more times to reach its last upgrade.
  • Attack - 900 Impact
  • True Attack - 250
  • Element - 390 Dragon
  • Affinity - 35%
  • Sharpness - 120 hits with white or 80 hits with purple with Sharpness +1
  • Defense - +0
  • Slots - No slots
  • Rarity - 10

5. Light Break Charge Blade

Having one of the most versatile element in the game, which is blast, makes this CB a good weapon against almost all the monsters that MH4U has to offer. This could be your go-to-weapon when you don't know what CB to bring and it'll downright demolish the monsters for you. The crafting of this CB on the other hand is a bit tedious because it can only be created if you max out the low rank Brachydios CB and finish off the last upgrade with the Critical/Furious Brachydios parts.
  • Attack - 1008 Impact
  • True Attack - 280
  • Element - 330 Blast
  • Affinity - 0%
  • Sharpness - 30 hits with white or 30 hits with purple with Sharpness +1
  • Defense - +0
  • Slots - Two slots
  • Rarity - 10

*Do note that the attack values here are the original values they started off with, they aren't honed with attack.

There you have my top 5 non-relic Charge Blades! Some of you may agree and some may not, but we are all entitled to our own preference, my list doesn't mean that these are the CBs that's you would only aim for, no it's not like that, but let this list be a baseline to help you choose what kind of stats you would look for when checking out CBs.

Craft, craft, craft and enjoy! Happy hunting!
