Nostalgic Gaming: Resident Evil 3: Nemesis!

Okay! If zombies from Resident Evil weren't enough, Capcom decides to make Nemesis! A relentless boss of some sort that chases you and makes you decide if you want to run away and save ammo, or, you can fight him to reap the rewards which are only available and exclusive in hard mode.

My favorite weapon in Resident Evil 3 has got to be the Grenade Launcher. It's got 4 types of grenades you can put in and all of them are useful throughout the game! But my favorite grenade type has got to be the freeze rounds because it just wreaks Nemesis' health and it slows him down a bit.

The only bad thing about the grenade launcher is that Nemesis can dodge the rounds you fire at him but if you're 4-5 feet away from him, it's pretty much a guaranteed hit. Just dodge his attacks and punish him with a round or two and everything'll be fine.

If compared to the previous game, this one's much shorter and only has one scenario but for me the replay value for this game is fun and rewarding at the same time due to the fact that every time you go through the game, you get progressively better and see different ways on how to play it.

Shotguns, Handguns, Magnum and a lot of other weapons are in the game for you to play around, just be sure that your gun has some bullets in it, hate to see you shooting blank of course but it's happened to me back then and it's a common thing for beginners.

But with the amount of guns the game has, it also has a lot of different enemies, ranging from zombies to decapitating hunters, so have fun dealing with those guys!

I've played a lot of Resident Evil 3 but I've never had the chance to get an A rank, the highest I got was B and it seems that healing with a mixed herb reduces a lot of your points.

I did a run where I skipped Nemesis fights to reduce the damage received and save time to get an A rank but I still got a B rank.

This game just pushes you to the limit!

If I get the chance to play this game again I'll aim for the A rank as it'll be my Resident Evil 3 goal!

If you haven't played Resident Evil 3 back then, don't worry, It's never too late to play this awesome classic game. Though the tank controls can sometimes be a nuisance to new comers but it's all good in the end.

MH4U: My Mixed Armor Sets! Set #4! Honed Blade!

This is the armor set that I've used a lot with different weapons. It's got a good mix of offensive and defensive skills and the armor pieces themselves have high defenses.

I got lucky with the edgemaster +4 chest piece here because this was really hard to come by for me for quite some time and I'm very happy that I eventually got one.

This armor set was one of those sets that I set out to get from the very beginning of the game and once I completed it, it's served me well enough and more.

When I don't know which armor set to take to a hunt, this is what I usually pick. This is kind of my generic set that can go with any hunt and with any weapon equipped, well maybe not the GS but most weapons for that matter.

The armor pieces and talisman are:

Zinogre Helm X - OO
Esurient Armor - Edgemaster +4
Kujula Grip - O
Grand Divine Ire Obi - OO
Vangis Greaves X - OOO
Creator Talisman - Mounting +6, Evasion +7 OOO

Since it's made out of rarity 9 and 10 armor pieces the total defense it has is high.
Maxed out Defense = 746 (No armor talon/charm)

Elemental Resistance:

Fire +5
Water -7
Thunder +3
Ice -5
Dragon +3

The elemental resistances are almost near neutral and this makes it great for all purpose hunts. Nothing will sting too much if you get hit by an elemental attack but since there's that evasion skill, why not just roll away from harms way?

Decorations needed:

Evasion +3 Jewel x1
Sharpness +1 Jewel x1
Tenderizer +1 Jewel x2
Tenderizer +4 Jewel x2

Skills activated:

Honed Blade (10)
Razor Sharp (10)
Weakness Exploit (10)
Evasion +1 (10)

Evasion +1 is optional for the CB but for some weapons it can be an easy way of getting through attacks and punishing the monster right after. SnS, DB, LS, SA, Hammer, HH even the Lance and GL are compatible with this set since it has no specialization in any specific weapon.

Honed Blade has got to be the best blademaster skill there is assuming that the sharpness bar of the weapon isn't maxed out already. Attack Up L and Sharpness +1? And add in Razor Sharp for more purple hits? Yes, sir!

I know I'm kind of obsessed with the purple sharpness theme but come on, that 1.45 multiplier is so hard to resist! There are tons and tons of Honed Blade sets out there, this set is a simple one compared to the others but this one is special to me because it's helped me in a lot of post G-rank hunts.

May we all be blessed with luck on finding relics and charms! Happy hunting!

Relic Weapon! MH4U! (3rd SnS)

With my latest solo encounter with a level 139 Rajang, I got an ice relic SnS that's got a lot of stats and good sharpness. I used the SnS a lot back when I was just on low rank and it was the weapon that carried me through out G-rank and post G-rank.

The SnS is the one that I've got the most usage of, about 500+ I think. I love the SnS but sometimes you need to practice other weapon types to expand your hunting skills and give the game more depth to it.

Though I use the CB frequently nowadays, I'll always go back to the good old SnS from time to time for some high speed strikes and just annoying the monster with it. Here are the stats for my latest addition in SnS relics:

Appearance: Red Giltanas Epee
Sharpness: 30 hits of white or 30 hits worth of purple and 60 hits of white with Sharpness +1
Element: 310 Ice
Affinity: 10% or 25% when upgraded
Attack: 406
True attack value: 290
Defense: +20
Slots/Decorations: one slot
Rarity: 9

It's pretty much the whole package. Purple sharpness, with 20 defense and 25% affinity and add the high attack value it has? It's unnerving that this isn't even the top tier for relics but I'm already impressed with it. I've hunted with others that have some really absurd relics, relics that have ridiculous amounts of raw, defense and even element!

SnS as what I said above, are fast weapons, good placement and relocation after a roll and you'll be fine. As with my other relics that don't have their own armor set, I'll pair this up with my Honed Blade set which has some nice essential skills that the SnS can utilize.

I understand why there are a lot of ludicrous relics because the game has sadistic monsters as well, guess that just balances everything after all. Give 4 hunters overpowered weapon relics that they're proficient with and witness just how freakishly powerful top tier relics truly are.

It's been quite some time since I got a relic weapon worth keeping, I've been hunting online these past few weeks trying to get good charms as well but it seems that my luck has somewhat run out. I'm still hoping to get my hands on a relic that has 330 or more raw, maybe in the near future I hope.

Well here's my latest relic SnS, hope you guys also get great relics and charms! Happy hunting!

MH4U: Guild Quest Shenanigans! (136-140 Rajang Solo Part 4)

I'm quite surprised that it took me 35 minutes to finish this quest because I was using an offensive oriented set using the Star Knight Armor and added a bunch of skills to it.

The last time I took him down was a long time ago but I remember that it was just under 33 minutes with the same CB (Daora's Thwartoise) and back then I didn't even have honed for attack! This just baffles my mind!

Did the monster have more HP? Did he have higher defense with just one level in difference to the previous run? or maybe I just goofed a bit on my level 139 run? I don't really know but I'll try to do it again with my Honed Blade set just to check it out.

These were the armor skills I used:

Sharpness +1
Steady Hand
Rodeo God
Challenger +2
Weakness Exploit
Artillery Novice

These are mean skills if you look at it, maybe I just didn't utilize this on my part and got rusty halfway through the hunt. Challenger +2 is an awesome skill because Rajang's always angry, angry, angry! So angry that he pulls out a huge chunk of earth and throws it at you.

I fainted once during the whole hunt, got hit with a left hook and there goes all my health instantly. Felyne skills that I ate for was the defender (Hi) which is basically the same as the armor skill Divine Protection.

Used a lot of guard points for his hooks and triple thunder ball because I don't have any Guard/Evasion + skills which for me is totally okay with. Keep that shield in overcharged mode and abuse the guard points' potential!

I always tried to aim for his arms so that he would stumble down and let me get a good super burst on his torso. When I trip him and he goes flailing around when he's in regular mode, I sometimes gamble on using the ultra burst instead of the super, it does a ton of damage but you'll lose your overcharged shield buff.

I recently read in a wiki that the wystones drive and element don't just allow you to hit them without bouncing off and apply elemental/status damage, they also increase the damage it does, like a bonus multiplier.

The drive wystone adds 16% more raw damage whilst the element gives 20% more elemental/status damage. I never knew this up until the time I looked it up, the more you know, the better you'll be!

Took me a lot of tries, about 10 I think? or maybe a bit more than that but nonetheless the level 139 Rajang has now been taken care of and we now move on the maxed out level which is 140! Come join my adventures as I slay the legendary 140  Apex Rajang on my own! Next time! Happy hunting!
